Hailey Neufeld

Ballet ARAD, RAD, RTS, BA Honours, PBT, Pointe, Modern, Contemporary.

Growing up in Kelowna, B.C., Hailey began her training at Creator’s Arts Centre under the instruction of Terry McGowan who inspired and fostered her love for ballet and teaching from a young age. Focusing primarily on ballet and modern/contemporary, she remained at CAC for 12 years under the instruction of Emma Donley and Joanna Lige. During her time at CAC Hailey performed in several shows, competitions and community events, completed several RAD exams, and was the first student at CAC to achieve her Advanced 2 award in 2013.

Hailey took a year off to work and travel. Returning to the studio in 2014, Hailey was reminded of her love for teaching when she began assisting Emma Donley’s Grade 4 RAD Ballet Class. Emma, along with the support of her parents, encouraged her to pursue dance as a career path. Hailey applied for the Royal Academy of Dance’s BA Ballet Education program, and spontaneously flew to London, UK for an audition. After her acceptance, Hailey returned to London where she lived and studied from 2015-18.

Catherine LeBlanc

Jazz, Jazz Technique, Ballet, Modern

Catherine began dancing at the young age of 4 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. For the next 9 years of her life she trained in Ballet, Tap, and Jazz, with a strong focus on Ballet. At 10 she became a teacher assistant to the younger classes and continued this throughout her dance training. At 13 she made the transition from Classical Ballet training to competition training. Once there she was exposed to more genres of dance including, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and more. By 16 she became the substitute teacher for dance classes running through her local community and continued this until graduation. After High School graduation Catherine pursued academics, completing a Bachelor of Science degree at Memorial University; during her time away Catherine actively followed the dance competition world both inside and outside of Canada.

Upon graduation Catherine knew she wanted to find a way back into dance and shortly after moving back to Nova Scotia was able to re-connect with previous studios and begin teaching again.

In 2017, Catherine made the move to Calgary and has had the opportunity to work at Alberta Ballet School. During this time, she has attended many teacher workshops, training sessions and curriculum building exercises with both the Professional and Recreational faculty of Alberta Ballet School. In 2018, Catherine worked with YYC Dance Project to help implement a more commercial style jazz training within the after-school dance program. In 2020, she completed her Progressive Ballet Techniques certificate. Currently, Catherine holds the title of Marketing Coordinator at Alberta Ballet School, although continues to teach part-time to continue to share her love of dance with others.
